    Nice episode Ben. I would have added a few flow charts to help people understand what you wanted to do an how you establish your decision points. Doing things on the screen are quick, but hard to follow…

    For pseudo-random generators you can use a linear congruential generator function like:

    Y=(aX+b) mod c

    that is pretty decent for some values of a, b, c.

    glibc uses a=1103515245, b=12345 and c=2^31

    Makes it easier than doing weird operations with variables image

    Nice episode Ben.

     

    I would have added a few flow charts to help people understand what you wanted to do an how you establish your decision points.

    Doing things on the screen are quick, but hard to follow.  Having the flow chart to follow will keep beginners in the loop as you whip through the code.
