Ben continues building his crowdsourced can crusher, creating it piece by piece to make sure everything works before routing parts on the CNC.

  • Dear Ben,

    Congratulations! It works. On your small gear that's slipped on the stepper motor: To keep your set screw from slipping, Drill/cut a hole through the side of your gear at a 90 degree angle to your set screw hole. This will need to be flat on bot sides so you can slip a metal nut inside. The nut will need to be a size to fit on your set screw.  It will need to sit far enough away from the outside edge that you do not make that wall too thin and brake when applying pressure. We've used this method in 3D printing plastic gears for our stepper motors.
