Good job. I would like to have 3d printer and build HO train cars and box cars. I do not know where to start.

2 Weeks to build something you are not fully familiar with? Or you are using? Still a full machine with an Arduino, RAMPS, Repsnapper, MakerGear, motors and stuff. VERY impressive. Thanks for the encouragement to do amazing things.

Thanks for this great video of the 3D printer. My MakerBot CupCake will be at my home tomorrow image Of cource the printing section is small like 100mm x 100mm x 130mm. I want to enlarge this platform and build a larger unit. I was wondering how large and how tall can I make a 3D printer and have it print out nicely?

Thanks again for this really cool look into building a 3D printer

    Jax

Good job!  You didn't seem to excited about the end results, but think about it, you just made something completely new!  And customized to you particular design!

I think that a few tests to see the ability of the extruder to flow material, along with a few straight runs to see how fast you can go should nail the settings.

BTW, what are the 'E' commands for? I saw settings like E33 and E44.  Are these defining the rate of extrusion?

Thanks again for inspiring the rest of us tinkerers...

    Great job Ben!

I have been considering a 3D printer and after your demonstration, I feel much more confident in tackling a project like this.

As usual, you have provided an excelent tutorial with knowledge and humor.

Keep up the good work.  I look forward to your next show.

    Thanks

    DAB
