Hi Dalton, there is no sure fire home method of repairing those faults. The issue is caused by poor design of the GPU and compounded by poor ventilation / airflow. Proof of this is in the new Xbox Slim. Cpu and gpu integrated into one package and no sign of overheating consoles ... yet, its amazing whats achievable when you let experts design it rather than "doing it on the cheap".

The only real way to repair this fault is to remove, reball and refit the GPU. It is actually achievable at home but does require some specialist hardware. I used a hotair rework station, a hot plate, a re-balling jig and a couple of temperature sensors.

The issues can be made worse by people attempting to reflow the GPU by overheating, Towel-trick or paint stripper and clamping the GPU tighter to the board as the fault then has oppotunity to erode the pads on which the BGA sits. More damage to the pads can occur by over-cooking the chip.

Having done 2 on the cheap, I would suggest taking your time, researching the reflow temperature curves and removing the epoxy that M$ decided was a good idea to hold the chip down.

well when i did research on the error code it says that there is just a cold solder joint under the southbridge ethernet port area so wouldnt it be logical to just remove the solder and re apply the solder at the appropriate joint (if located)
