amperage

so im building a combo nes snes n64 and gamecube and ill be using a atx power suppliy to power the consols my question is dose the amprage have to be right on for what the console requirers or can it be a little higher .

wow 8 years of electronics hobby designing later i have come so far from thinking i had to place resistors in series with the output of a linear reg lolz

So did you get those consoles built and did you need heat sinks? Feels like an episode of a soap . It was only a couple of years ago that I thought a LM7805 was a type of helicopter.

Oh, and remember output capacitors on the linear regulators. I got burned by that before. I figured I didn't care if my output had ripple so I didn't use a cap and my regulator started oscillating. There is usually a minimum capacitance specced.

thanks for the help im going to order the parts i looked at the data sheet for both regulaters and found the capacitors i need for input and output looks like this thing might accualy get put together
