One Handed Soldering Iron

So a roll of solder is on the side of the solder station. Solder is fed to the tip by a series of brackets and a servo. A sensor will be used to tell when to start feeding solder and stop feeding it. You could also use a remote and feed it yourself. A sensor will also be on the station as well and will be used to retract the solder when the station is powered down. Thanks for reading!

A motorised feed which pulls solder through a guide attached to the soldering iron so it  advances through the guide and is fed towards the soldering tip and thus the joint. Speed of advance to be controlled via foot pressure switch.

As some one has already said it would be like the wire feed on a welder.

Certainly a nice project idea if you have limited use of your hands ...cool

I also have helping hands. The hands never stay steady. I got mine at the Science and Industry building in Chicago.

I find most helping hands no help what so ever they are too light for the most part and the croc clips/joints too weak....

You'd think that some one must find them useful because they continue to sell them but personaly they suck some what.

BTW putting a small sand bag on them makes them more useful or screw them to some wood
