Creating a figurine in my own likeness...

Question

I am interested in the end-to-end processes involved in creating a model figurine (perhaps 7" in height) of my exact likeness...

I assume this will involve:

Converting images into a 3-D representation (the how-to's, software involved, etc), and
Printing a mold using a 3-D printer

What I'm interested in are specifics that will take me from where I am now (no knowledge, no equipment) to a finished figurine that represents my identical likeness.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

This is actually (somewhat) possible through a third party service on firebox. I found this on LÜT Episode 47 from Vsause2 on Youtube. http://www.firebox.com/product/5430/3D-Printed-Heads This is however a 3D print of your head (exact likeness) not a full figurine.

I'm not sure that's technically possible without significant human intervention and 'craftmanship', for example to paint it to a likeness. It will still look 'plastic' and '3D printed' otherwise perhaps. Also, if you mean clothed, then a closer likeness would be with a small cloth outfit than with plastic. Texture would be more similar then. So I think the process would involve hiring a craftsperson (including sewing etc) and maybe even an artist who will be familiar with more materials (and techniques) beyond just 3D printer materials. This may explain why for movies everything is CGI.
