singing Tesla coil Mark 1

Dose anyone think that using a car stereo amplifier as the power supplie for a Tesala coil

would work as to make it play music by using the output form a 120 watt car stereo amp

after putting a hefty diode on the out put to get rid of the flip flop effect on the output of the amp

Sorry for the schematic quality I drew it with out anything but a ruler but its just a basic idea

Did you see http://www.element14.com/community/message/146983/l/re-tesla-coil-music-player#146983 from Mike Wiltrout? Sometimes the best answer is to experiment. But be careful with 120 volts! Never handle without voltage off and a complete understanding...

Yes i did but it seemed to overly complex to use an interrupter board and also $$$EXPENSIVE$$$

A 350W car stereo amp with two speaker out puts (only need 1) is about 50$ and that's OVER KILL

But yes Because i have found no one else so far that has experimented with this theory i will just experiment

Thank you for the help though
