  • 5,8Ghz Helical Antenna Pair ( TX/RX)
  • MPU6050 Gyrometer/ Accelerometer Module
  • LiPo-battery (1s or 2s depending on your Power supply circuit)
  • 5A BEC or Powersupply circuit that delivers enough current @5V
  • external LiPo-battery charger
  • Switch ( for Power)
  • DIP4 push buttons x9pcs
  • Solid strand wire
  • Solder
  • Protoboard/Perfboard

Excellent. You have put a huge amount of effort into this and have produced a project build worthy of winning the contest.

    Thanks Matt

The Skull is an animatronic I have built for Maker Faire Hannover 2017, it is solely controlled by my voice and a PIR Sensor that enables the eyes when you get close to it. I tried to make it as "simultanious" with my own voice as possible, with some rudimentary arduino Code.

Thank you for this building Clemens,

I suppose I have some stuff here and there of that old development but probably the most useful thing for you is we email privately. Just because most of the knowledge is totally outdated and useless today but I have reused many principles so I hope I can give you the suggestions you need.

BTW, Me too, I hope that judges things the same image Good luck

    Enrico

thank you very much Enrico, Do you have more Details about your Project in the 90´s this is of great interest for me!

I wanted to include Openarena into the Project (based on the Quake3-Engine) but I had Performance issues with head tracking, while
running the game Full Screen. So I focused on getting Doom to run as smooth as possible PRBoom-plus worked the best on the PI 3 while staying up to pace whith the headtracking.

I think it´s better to make one game run well than a few on a suboptimal Level. I´m looking forward to the Pi 3+ maybe it has enough power to handle the same thing with Openarena.

I would like to turn this into some sort of Kit or HAT for the Pi some day.
Glad you liked my Video! Let´s hope the judges think equally!

In mid '90, I developed some applications based on the DOOM 3D motion engine. I was working in a small research company in Italy and the fast DOOM engine was available for few $$$. Then I developed the firmware and software to more a 3d immersive ship; you were sitting inside with a 386 under the seat, a great 17 inches screen and the "ship" was moving (6-axis, hydraulic motion) to play. A Novell lite network was connecting up to four players to fight together while a separate audio mic was giving more immersion as you were able to speak with the other layer real time.

In that same period, we have also tried to port the same environment on Virtuality probably the first decent VR head but it was anyway too primitive to support the entire project so the final solution was the virtual ship.

Comparing the depth knowledge of the DOOM engine with your result, I should say that it is not only a great job but also I can understand very well what's the feeling playing the game so. Later I also ported Terminal Velocity (better to be used on a virtual ship) and Quake but DOOM, in my opinion, remains the very one first cult game. So I liked your building and your choice.

From the point of view of the BHS-style production (that is the real target of the competition), my compliments, it is the most intriguing approach I saw. I hope that you will release more details in the near future to make this project available for replication and improvement.

    Enrico

    Thanks Tariq

Glad you like my style of Videos! I hope the other judges feel the same.

The only thing not to love about this VR game is you have to adapt to it on the first try to avoid headaches, it feels like flying FPV for the first time. But after a few short games it is less weird. VR makes the game seem harder due to the different controls.
