SEGA Genesis VS Super Nintendo

Ben Heck recently broke down the Sega Genesis and a Super Nintendo to scientifically prove which 16 Bit console was the best. Which console do you think was better?

  • The Sega always looked and felt really cheap, to me image all of their systems kinda have up to the Dream Cast. THAT one just had some...strange design choices. The thing about Sega is they make pretty solid arcade games, but a lot of their console titles during that time just really fell flat for me. It could just be because I had an SNES growing up, but my neighbors all had the Genesis and I never really felt any jealousy whenever I played it. Mostly just confusion. Plus since I work as a sound guy in the game industry, I have to be biased-- the SNES blew the Genesis out of the water hands down in that department image yeah, I know, its a matter of preference, but the FM synth music just didn't really do it for me, and kinda added to the cheapness factor...I think I just associated it with low-end MIDI hardware back then image Years later, I can definitely appreciate its place in music, but...eh. SNES still has my vote.
