Game Guy - The Unportable Game Boy -- Episode 531

Due to the need for both speed and precise timing, video conversion tasks are often left to FPGAs or similar devices. But in this episode, Andy demonstrates how a $4 microcontroller can be used to convert Game Boy video into something that can be displayed on a big screen. Combine that with an NES controller port, and you've got a TV console that can play original Game Boy games!

Glad you enjoyed it! Yep, I probably should have used proper connectors rather than soldering directly and using hot glue for strain relief. This is a hobby for me and I'm still learning. But, it's also a project for a 15-20 minute YouTube video, so some things were done in the interest of time.

andywest Please forgive me for being unclear. In my humble opinion, your soldering skills are amazing. My soldering... yeah... I'd have burned those traces off during the desoldering part. Not good. You did phenomenal. You get NO criticism from me. Again, awesome project.
