that must be have been the biggest headache relief since the invention of aspirin.

I had a project that needed to use an old ASR33 teletype for code entry. It would take up to an hour to load my paper tapes.

When the project ended, one of the guys in the room came up and gave me a big hug to show his appreciation for the silence.

It's okay. I'll make my own. I'm sure someone else could benefit from your generous offer though. :-)

I'm actually a noisy printer enthusiast, so If any I would try to make it even more pronounced. for the longest time I had a 3,5" floppy drive in my modern pC just for the sound on boot. maybe this printer will serve a similarly pointless purpose.

Maybe next time you can take on the challenge to make the printer quieter while it runs.

Hi Clem, why not implement RFC 1179? You wouldn’t need special software if this was an lpr network printer.
