Using Dead Batteries to Test for Dead Batteries -- Episode 571

Dead battery? That's a matter of perspective! Instead of recycling coin cell batteries when their time is due, I will put them to good use and show you a secret feature of a Raspberry Pi Pico - and what sets it apart from other microcontrollers. Let's use the dead batteries to check for dead batteries, so I never have to doubt the battery again! I'll end up with a nifty box to keep my batteries organised, tested, and ready to use!

Perhaps you could use Karen's 'juicer' to extend the life of those dead batteries even further? /challenges-projects/element14-presents/thelearningcircuit/w/documents/4041/the-learning-circuit-39-inductor…

You might be able to use a "joule thief" to allow operation from an even lower voltage....

I am working on my own printer volume is ~24 cubic inches. The nice part about the printer is once you level the frame, then you level the bed. (it never ever moves.) the only thing that moves is the gantry which moves with two steppers one on each side. Side to side and up and down are controlled by two more steppers for a total of 4. the gantry checks at the four corners before printing and will not move if the bed needs adjustment. the frame and the device to hold the bed are STEEL tig welded. as well as the gantry which takes about 6" per each of the two feet.

The reason I am taking this approach is that the machine will have three heads. Printer, Laser Engraver, CNC Spindel( most likely I will just do plastics.)

Your fan suggestion piqued my interest. I will look to replace the fans in my desktop to see if it make a difference.
