Build your own Underwater Drone with 3D Printed Parts -- Episode 576

In this week’s episode of element14 presents we’re serving up something a bit different. Filip and Peter are two aspiring engineers who are currently attending university in Poland. Over the past four years they have been iterating and refining their underwater submarine – what they call their CPSdrone (CPS for Custom Printed Submarine). In this episode, they explain the electronics inside, some of the steps in their development process, and take us on an underwater tour.

Bath time got a lot more interesting. Nice project and presentation.

Have you thought about incorporating mesh screens for the propulsion units? I could see the likes of pond weed / seaweed getting caught up around the props if used outdoors. Also stops fingers getting shredded.

Thanks! We haven't tried that yet, but could be useful. We caught a lot of lake weed with that thing already, the current solution is just to avoid the plants
