Clem tries to convert his cheap tiny CNC machine that never really worked into an easy to use tool. The tiny CNC should use the same worflow and software like a standard 3d printer does. There is one rule that always applies, „ If you buy cheap random stuff from unknown sources- you are in for a bad time“ The Struggle is real, but the result is a CNC Woodburning machine!

  • cool, but I need a foam cutter that can handle a 4x8 foot sheets and would have X/Y/Z normal axis, with maybe an additional axis for spindle tilt. Since my foam ranges from 1 to 4 inches in thickness, I will most likely have to hold the foam down with some sort of vacuum system, and a separate vacuum for sucking up the blizzard of snow!

    It would also be nice to have two spindles on two different gantries so that I can cut this at a) twice the speed b) two items at the same time.

    If you want to double down on this hardware there are "pin-locks", powered by air that can be mounted on the gantry to remove the spindle and the mounts. then replace it with maybe a laser? or a drill, etc.

    I too have an old CNC that never really came together.

    Maybe it is time I made something of it.
