Clem revisits his HACK like HECK project, the VRpi!  A Virtual Reality System for the Raspberry Pi. The original device did run  Doom exclusively. The VRpi  2 runs OpenArena and other Games, you can even use it as a cheap pseudo VR Kit for your PC-Games. Thanks to the Raspberry Pi 3+ some Arduino micros and Radio transmitters.

Great episode Clem. I like the design for VR control. I am not a gamer, but I can see many uses for this approach. DAB

Hi , folks You can download all the Files to get your own VRpi up and running right under this video. Hope you have fun with it, feel free to improve upon the Code and concept! I'd love to see this thing…

Thanks, Even for non gamers this thing might come in handy when playing around with 3d Software. I also tried it out for FPV-Flying Simulators, which also works good.

not really a doc, basically the video is the documentation.

    in short form:

    Video:

connect the composite video testpoint and gnd to the 5,8ghz sender module

    Head tracker:

The mpu6050 is connected to an atmega 32u4 base MCU (arduino micro) via I2C (default pins)

connect the Head tracking unit  via USB cable to the pi

    Controller:

controller is another Arduino micro that reads buttons and is also connected via usb to the pi

the rest is code and configuration available in the download section /seen in the video.
