With the power of 3D printing, CNC routing, and Linux, will this be a daily driver to outshine your current portable computer? Of course not, but will it be fun? Absolutely.

I guess it's how you look at the world. for me it is a nice TOY. as I must run JAVA8 to support my programming and JAVA 8 code as well as my C compiler and tools plus Eclipse IDE.

So first off you need a 500GHDA, 1Tb is better.

Now Yes I can get all this to run in a PI but that's not my target.  LINUX AMD64

having a step file is big benefit as you can alter the file to your needs.

however to turn it into ans tl file simply import it into any free CAD software (Freecad works great on ubuntu) and export it as stl.

    Hi there,

You can find the 3D files in the resources folder zipped up at the top of the page.

    Best of luck!

    DJ

I've considered making my own laptop and was going to use this video as a "how to". However, 3D printing has never been a strong suit of mine so i was hoping you could make the 3D specs available to download? If so that would be great. Thanks!

I like this alternative to a pi-top in spite of the tiny (7") screen.  Would it be possible to have some space for a storage alternate to MicroSD?  E.g. an mSATA SSD expansion board or some USB3 drive "cage".

To be an everyday working laptop, storage should be better quality (performance, longevity) than MicroSD.
