To celebrate the launch of Borderlands 3, DJ has embarked on an epic, case-modding journey. Not only is he building a nearly full-scale Claptrap, but he’ll be shoving, er uh, gently placing a full-size gaming PC inside. Is bringing an animatronic Claptrap into a world a terrible idea sure to bring about chaos and despair? Maybe, but there’s no time to think about consequences... let’s get building!

Oh, that's just for some of the prints haha. After a certain point I stopped keeping track because I was more focused on just getting them done. Also, part two is live today!

Great Concept and looking good so far. As far as suggestions, one thing people (judges in shows) always comment on is a display is too static, there is no implied movement. So, instead of using a couple…

An impressive design and build and print. You must have a fast printer to get all those parts in only 160 hours. Not being a gamer I have no idea what/who Claptrap is but it looks fun and it is a mobile…

Silly question, but is there a list of the parts used for the build anywhere!?  i.e. the aluminum extrusions used, servos, etc!?

I managed to find Part 2 (Episode 413:  Animatronic Claptrap Case Mod Part 2 ). There are some good ideas in it that I hope to replicate one day.

I like that Idea, having claptrap in a pose that suggests movement would be really cool

Great Concept and looking good so far. As far as suggestions, one thing people (judges in shows) always comment on is a display is too static, there is no implied movement. So, instead of using a couple of struts to anchor him, give it a base with rocks or sand to bury the bottom portion of the tire and triangulate the structure from within there and maybe a large rock to give him some support towards the backside.image

    Interesting build.

How do you plan to keep it upright with just one wheel?
