I am 81 tears old.  A Dr, friend of mine said I was too old to learn a new subject and that my mind could not retain the information.  Well, I have watched all 98 episodes of your series and I can tell my Dr friend he does not know what he is talking about.  Thank you, Karen, you have inspired me to seek more "New Knowledge".  I have built several of the kits you taught us about and I feel very confident in what I have learned.  I only wished you would make more episodes.

If you remember my discussion about how it is photons, not electrons that cause current flow, the Tesla coil is a perfect example of my theory.

When ever you see electricity, you always see photons.

When you bring the Florescent tubes into the magnetic field of the coil, that is how you get over air transmission of power.

Many decades ago I went to the Tesla museum at Colorado Springs, Colorado.

They demonstrated several truly awesome Tesla coils, even one with a water core.

They also showed fluid pump Tesla designed that would allow you to pump any fluid, even live fish through pipes without harming them.

Sparks also permit the formation of nitrogen oxides. A very important phenomenon in nature. The nitrogen present in proteins and DNA is said to come from thunder sparks.

The two nitrogen atoms of the dinitrogen molecule are linked with a triple bond. These triple bond is very strong and requires a lot of energy to break. That is why dinitrogen is virtually inert. The very high energy of sparks can break this triple bond and allows nitrogen to react with atmospheric oxygen to form nitrogen oxides that dissolve in water to form nitrates.
