Digital multimeters, or DMMs, come in many shapes and sizes. In this video, we compare a Pen Style DMM to a larger more traditional meter. Both have 3.75 digits of resolution, but how do real-world voltage, resistance, capacitance, and diode measurements compare?

Good stuff. For a future video, I'd like to see more of the signal decoders that allow you to see the bytes being piped over serial. It would come in handy when trying to hack devices to add functionality…

I had a wild thought, to make the device more useful and compensate for the upside down display, maybe you could make it talk so the user does not need to look up to read the value. Just a thought. DA…

One application of the byte catcher would be to hack one of those inexpensive automobile backup assistance sensors (picture pasted below hopefully). The output cable from its brain box to its display only…

Nice overview of the pocket DMM.

It would be handy to have when sorting through components to verify if they are still working and within spec.
