Inspired by the Indian Jones film "The Temple of Doom", I teamed up with "The Kuriologist" to make a skull bowl with jewelled eyes.
The electronics are pretty simple. The "brain" is an Adafruit Gemma, some LEDs and a piece of audio wire screening to act as a sensor for the capacitive touch sensors.
The skull was made from scrunched up tape rolls, newspaper boxes and paper mache, the gemma was housed in a small cardboard box. The Kuriologist based the design on an ape skull and covered the surface with a decoage skull texture and finished it with varnish for an aged effect.
Reflectors were added to the LEDs and these were mounted on the back of the gem eyes.
The code simply flashes the eyes when a hand gets close enough to take a sweet from the bowl
