Any project that use RF communication on sub-1GHz bands like 315 MHz, 433 MHz, 868 MHz or 915 MHz (depending on your location, usege of some of these frequencies is prohibited in some countries).
Electronics is often about shrinking the size of a design, but when you want to make a splash or a photogenic project, bigger is better.

I was thinking that this might also make an interesting theme for Project14.
Anything that helps in your home lab, from custom lighting, access system, storage management etc. to measurement tools and their additions, power supplies, loads, DMM accessories, useful cabling etc.
Something that spices up videos. It could be anything from an infinity mirror, to a teleprompter, to a holographic display, to a HUD, to a light sabre.
All home/industrial automation systems needs alarms and alerts, but let's be honest, they haven't changed much in decades and still tend to be boring notifications/emails and/or flashing lights and/or mono/sweeping/alternating tone buzzers.

How about a device to make your picnic or outdoor relaxing more pleasant ? An automatic drink refresher, bug repellents, auto turn on tiki torches, etc ???
