LED tree

I would like to present a tree made from 15 white warm LEDs, winding wire and powered from USB. Each LED is soldered to two winding wires and protected by white heat-shrink tubing. I used this wires with LEDs it to form branches and trunk of tree. All LEDs are connected parallel and have a proper resistors to limit current for each. Tree trunk was putted to aluminium case from taken from candle and glued with hot-melt. It is really simple construction but final effect it is quite nice. Here are more photos:

That's a very beautiful project! Clever use of enamelled wire. In fact clever use of all the materials, the tea-light base is inspired too. Also good use of the white heat-shrink sleeving, the light nicely…

Shabaz, A great idea of using it for children to make. It has all the right ingredients for something great that they could make. I'll have to wait a couple of years for my Grandchildren to age but then…

    Elliot,

I agree, it is the simplicity combined with the final ambience or sophistication which is a rare combination. It's strange than no-one seems to have thought of this before as I cannot recollect ever seeing one exactly like this. I've seen larger ones and ones that hand from ceilings in the form of a star but they're much more expensive.

The ambiance that the light gives off is relaxing! I like how simple it is to put together.

This would be a really nice school project.. kids could bring in an old USB lead to further save costs.

Thank you. I think that using of a RGB LEDs should also improve final effect.
