Homemade Electric Guitar

When this Project14 challenge came up I knew exactly what I would submit. I have been working on this electric guitar for a few months now and just finished it up. I made everything except for the pickups, that is my next step in my instrument making. I always do my own wiring for the guitars. The guitar body, neck and fret board was all hand built by myself. I created this semi-hollow body guitar from solid figured cherry and figured maple. The maple is the neck and the cherry is the body. I did the staining and finishing as well. The electronics themselves as you can see is fairly easy but has great results!!

    Same, it was amazing seeing something being so well made and making such a nice sound after... I have a few guitars and can barely play any of them

  • As a lad I spend hours reading the "How to make an electric guitar" book which I'd borrowed from the library. I never did build a guitar though...

    The ukelele always brings back childhood memories for me, watching George Formby movies on TV with my parents.

    He was very much loved in the UK, I don't know how popular he was worldwide.

    I followed a couple of designs and added a bit of my own. It is a semi-hollow body guitar. I make Uke's as well. I have made 6 in the past year. If you require any help I will gladly do whatever I can!!

    Wow - impressive earthing and attention to wiring : ) It looks like that is lined with adhesive copper plate?
