The Secret Behind Santa's Sleigh

There are lots of theories about what powers Santa's sleigh.

There may be some magic on element14, but in this exercise we are exploring other possibilities....

The theory explored here is that the sleigh is powered by a drone...

I received a MicroDuino Quadcopter Kit as a finisher prize in the Sixth Sense Design Challenger earlier this year and I figured it could be used to power Santa's sleigh. I wanted to try it out this year and I wanted to get one last build in this year... so here is the build video:

Add a 3D printed sleigh and beam up a nice image of Boldt castle and a couple of black threads and you get Santa visiting Boldt Castle.

Hi Doug,

It was fun to watch the Quad-Copter assembly!
But, you have not mentioned when you first flew it, how many seconds into the flight before it inevitably flipped and crashed

I finally figured out how to operate the time lapse feature on my camera.
When my assistant showed up, he took a long look at the camera that was clicking away - trying to decide if it was something he could play with.

Good eye - he likes plastic and wire and anything stringy.
I came down one day and he had managed to turn on the computer that is running the castle display.
The power button is that silver sliver in the middle...
