BeagleBone AI Terminal pins connector

I am trying to find a connector and wires for the 3 pin TTL serial connector on the BeagleBone AI. I know that it is 1.27 mm spacing but I have not been able to locate anyone who can sell me a connector with wires and connector. I have purchased a FTDI USB to serial convertor with 0.1 inch spaced pins for Dupont connecting wires so I just need to convert from 1.27 mm to 0.1 inches (2.54 mm). I know they exist, I just cannot find any.

I can remember reading about this in a comment on one of the Blogs about the BeagleBone AI when it was first put forward for use with the Vision Thing Project14 competition and thought at the time that that would be useful. I even looked them up on Amazon, but I just cannot find the comment now and I just cannot find the right combination of words that will allow me to find it on Amazon. Anyone any ideas?

No problem, it's sunny today, so a great reason to go for a walk to the post office during lunchtime : )

It's funny how you can so easily go up the wrong garden path. I measured the pin separation yesterday and ended up at 1.27 mm. Admittedly this was with a simple ruler and a magnifying glass, which usually works. Then I started looking and found connectors with 1.27 mm spacing and just assumed they were the correct ones. I did think it was a little bit odd as a spacing for a modern board as it is 0.05 inches but then the cape connectors are 0.1 inch spacing. I was expecting it to be 2 mm. However, I measured it again today,, same technique and now it is 1.5 mm. It must be measurement error, 0.23 mm in 1.5 mm is 15%, not that good really.

    Hi Allen and dubbie

That's correct, the connector is 1.5mm pitch. It is part code ZHR-3ZHR-3 along with ZH series crimp contactsZH series crimp contacts.

It's super-tiny so does need a crimp tool like PA-09 though. Without that tool, it's a lot harder, and pre-crimped cables could be preferable.

Anyway Dubbie I have your details, I can send you a cable tomorrow since you're in the UK too (I have like 95 of the crimps that I'm unlikely to use in a hurry! and 9 shells.

    Dubbie,

It was shabaz mention of this in the comments section of his high resolution photos:

    https://www.element14.com/community/community/designcenter/single-board-computers/next-genbeaglebone/blog/2019/10/03/beaglebone-ai-bb-ai-photos-for-documentation-purposes

He describes the connector as a 3 pin " JST ZH ".  When I do a search on JST ZH, they describe the pin pitch as 1.5 mm though, rather than 1.27 mm.  A search on Newark, for some reason, doesn't have 3 pin connectors at the moment. https://www.newark.com/w/search/prl/results?st=jst%20zh%20cable

But searching at the big site you mentioned has them for sale when I search for JST ZH.
