I guess the suggestion box moved here so I will reiterate one idea I mentioned earlier and add one: - a classroom demonstration of some physics phenomenon ( jc2048 had some good ideas ) - a solar powered…

Keeping with July and (northern hemisphere) Summer time, I like Douglas' ideas. Demonstration of physical phenomenon for classroom is a great avenue, I was thinking lots of solar stuff. Charging systems…

As we are getting close to the holiday season, perhaps a "Rhythm and Dance" theme to help get the Element 14 community 'busting some moves' on the dance floor this Xmas.

Projects could take the form of smart dance mats, smart metronomes, music analysers to find that elusive 1 count or beat, accelerometers to measure movement, timers to indicate if you are on the beat, etc.

One idea I was pondering was a pair of Bluetooth linked headsets that a couples could use to practise steps together at their own pace in a room full of others. Select from metronome, music, spoken instructions via stereo audio, etc.

Another variation might be dancing robots - one of the projects documented in the Fischertechnik RoboPro software is a pair of explorer robots that dance the Tango connected via wireless comms.

Or if you are already a Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers, perhaps some wearables to help get you noticed...

Measurement would be good as well - should also be good for getting the younger generation interested in measuring the real world around them.

Pico Technology has a list of educational projects for data acquisition type projects.

Funny thing... when you said "a Question of Scale" I thought of measurement systems like thermocouples, piezos, and other sensors. But I like yours too.

A future theme suggestion: "It's all about a Question of Scale"

Take something and scale it up or down like the giant Game Boy, the handheld games consoles, or the jumbo servo.

It's a pity that I have voted for August, I thought that a new idea submission should be a comment then I saw it was the last option of the poll image

Got this little st of Sony speakers that came from a Sony walkman phone.  Nice little set run off a headphone but a small mp would make them so much better. Sound quality is incredibly good for their size. image

    Hi All,

While working on projects such as The Monster Book of Monsters, one additional job I have to do is to stop my dog from chasing my projects (Anything on wheels) or pouncing on movable parts (BB8s head).

This got me thing of a competition idea.... Electronics and Animals...

Ever made a timed cat feeder, dog monitor, cat GPS using an Arduino or aRaspberry Pi bird box camera?

    Thanks

    Kaylee
