When fmilburn mentioned his espresso machine in What's your tipple of choice? it made me think about how some kitchen appliances just don't seem to 'cut the mustard' and how time consuming some kitchen tasks are. There are gadgets for most things but wouldn't it be fun to make our own ?
That made me think that we could have a great Project14 theme based on kitchen appliances and gadgets - probably based around a controlling PC, Arduino, RPi, PLC etc. We could have gadgets to undertake several steps of a cooking process, like the old 'tea maid' or a bread maker. We could have CNC of fruit and veg? Laser engraving cake decorations? And of course 3D printing of food. Indeed something like this would be fun as I already can think of a few E14 members who'd likely try this :
I like NanoRama. I've ordered a Nano Every just in case this happens. The specs say that you can power it with up to 21V so running it from the car battery should be a breeze.
