Yes a simulation type project sounds very interesting. It fits within developing " digital twins " for real-world use cases.

There's lots of simulation software for various engineering tasks that would benefit from a review or tutorial, since some are quite hard to use!
It's something anyone can join in and do, since it requires no components.

Hey, I use dtwins for IOT applications. A virtual device that represents the physical one when it's off-line. AWS and Avnet's IoTConnect cloud platforms support it.
