I wouldn't call him an inventor, more of an innovator of technology. Maybe a genius. But definately an innovator.
I personally think it'd be cool if he made something to make soldering a lot more precise on a grid that is on 2 axis' that would allow you to swap out different soldering irons and still work so that it would save you from making many mistakes. A man can dream though...
Well you could create some type of modified 2 axis CNC mill but instead of a cutting head a soldering iron would be installed. For some type of solder feeding system on it would be similar to a mig welder welding wire feed system and have the wire nozzle able to be movable for different soldering angle and have it be computerized in some way.
