How do I read accelerometer data from LIS331 in MatLab

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

I've got a raspberry pi B+ model with a TMP102 sensor connected via I2C and LIS331 sensor connected via SPI.

I was going through How to use MATLAB with Raspberry Pi to Collect and Analyze Data from Sensors and Imaging Devices

and got my TMP102 sensor to work, but cant read from the LIS331 accelerometer. I would love to get the files lis331.m and orientation_example.m from the webinar if possible!

Thanks!

why not simply connecting FT2232D in I2C mode, and it will take only few function calls to get it working, and it can get up to 6Mbps

I would love to learn how to do that. I'm a huge noob. I've got a breadboard with the TMP102 connected to the I2C pin on the pi. Can I connect the LIS331 sensor to the same pin and read from both?

FT2232D will work in spi mode too, i can give example how to read data in labview, but it have to be very similar to matlab

This is communication with stm32f415.via spy. so it will work the same for your sensor, and no mcu is needed.
you can download examples for spi , search ft2232d spi example labview/matlab

I really wish i could just get those files from the webinar because I have my circuit ready to go, just no idea how to read the data, I just get [0,0,0] for [x,y,z]!
