imageOverview:

In this webcast we will discuss industry's first EMC compliant RS-485 interface design tool co-developed by Analog Devices and Bourns that provides up to Level 4 protection levels for IEC61000-4-2 ESD, IEC61000-4-4 EFT   and IEC61000-4-5 surge. This webcast describes each of these main transient types, and presents and demonstrates   three different EMC compliant solutions for three different cost / protection levels on RS-485 communication   ports.

Who should attend: Design engineers who need to protect and qualify their systems against EMC events.

The Presenters:

James Scanlon, Senior Engineer, Iinterface and Isolation Technology Group, Analog Devices
James Scanlon, was born in Westmeath, Ireland and received his BE in   Electronic Engineering at the University College Dublin in 2001. He subsequently completed a M.Eng. in VLSI   Systems from the University of Limerick in 2008. James joined Analog Devices, Limerick Ireland as a graduate   engineer in 2001 where he worked in design evaluation specializing in Laser Diode Drivers. He is currently   working as a senior engineer in the interface and isolation technology group predominantly dealing with a broad   portfolio of transceivers.
Koenraad Rutgers, Senior Field Applications Engineer, Industrial Market, Bourns Ltd.
Koenraad Rutgers initially worked for Texas Instruments as a lab based Applications Engineer specialising in precision measurement techniques. In 1996 he became Worldwide Telecom   Field Applications Engineer for circuit protection products for Power Innovations Ltd. During his time at Bourns   Koenraad has previously managed the European and Asian Telecom Circuit Protection Field Applications team, and   for 7 years managed new product development for the Semiconductor division. Key achievements are the integration   of reference design activities with the new product development process, combined with the very successful   launch of these new Circuit Protection products to multiple international Tier-One customers. During his career   to date Koenraad has co-authored 2 IEEE papers and 4 Patents.
