Thanks for posting the recording, It seems like the course / kit isn't just applicable to robotics but provides an interactive way to experiment with interfacing to sensors (which are often a source of problems when having to deal with the real world applications, ) and coding techniques. Nice to see finite state machines and interrupts in there. It's surprising to see how many professional people tackle embedded software (Especially without an RTOS) with a huge bit of linear code which then becomes difficult to manage and can seem unresponsive to the user. (Guess what I'm fixing at the moment) I think it's partly because electronics students don't necessarily cover embedded as they concentrated on electronics, and software students are looking at algorithms, API's and having the operating system handle the very low level stuff. But quite often you end up getting a job that's not exactly centre aligned with your degree. I'm the same but had a good boss early on who showed me some embedded coding techniques that got me started. over 20 years on I'm still learning new techniques as I've moved jobs and functions.
I was not able to attend the webinar, so i just watched the recording. The visual quality of the recording was (in my opinion) not very good at all. But it does not matter as the content was just to inform a bit about the kit, the curriculum developed for it, and competitions which one could compete in when the kit is built. For some reason i expected something else from this webinar - i guess because i did not image a need for a webinar to supply this type of information. Anyway - i find the kit and curriculum very interesting and would very much like to get my hands on the advanced kit and start the process. Unfortunately i do not know see how i could afford it in my present circumstances, so i will just have to purge these thoughts.
Very informative, they seem to have packed a lot of information into the curriculum and have provided a kit that builds upon the modules in a logical way. I will be throwing my hat into the ring to get one of the Roadtest Kits and look forward to seeing how well everything flows together from theory to actual use.
