Hi Rod, sorry about the poor resolution of the video recording. This has been regenerated and is now available at 720p HD resolution which should make it much easier to follow.
Hi I'm using CircuitStudio now for over a year. I'm very happy with it altough it asked me time to get in to it. Users are most of it related to the documentation of the Altium SW and project it to the circuitstudio SW. Libraries are indeed sometimes confrontating when first using it. Personally I found it more easy to use the local project libraries then making a own integrated library. Making a link from the schematic library to a footprint is not always clear, and has to do with the fact if a component is already used on the schematic design. Vault also has its issues specially when you want to change a component which has startpoint from a Vault component. Thanks for this video, the tip about the Designcontent from Altium is very usefull and saves a lot of time instead of searching on a 3th party websites.
The 3D use of the PCb is fantastic, certainly in relationship with f.e a mechanical designer for making the housing etc. Altough 3D manipulation of object is not so clear. Pls sent me a link how to for example reposition a 3D object.
Ik like to see evolving the Circuit Studio SW. Mainly for small engineering companies which has not the budgets to buy the full Altium design SW. In most cases drawing schematics and a making a good PCB with the 3D functionalities is 90% of the jobs.
CircuitStudio 1.5 looks really fantastic; thank you to James and Peter for talking though the product.
Perhaps it was my web browser but the video was too low a resolution to be able to read the screen grabs - not a huge issue as the voice overs still allowed me to understand what is possible. I looked at their website and £495 in the UK seems like a reasonable price for such a useful piece of software....I just need a decent project now that I can use as justification
