    I have one of the famous Java Rings from Sun Microsystems (1998) that used the Dallas Semiconductor iButton 1-wire technology.

    This is one of the first wearable computers, especially of this size.

    Maxim eventually bought Dallas Semiconductor, but the technology lives on.

    I wish the battery was replaceable.....

    I think you mean 1998!

    (And what do you mean replace the battery? From memory it's bus powered when plugged in.)

     

    Oak was renamed Java in 1994 due to an existing Oak trademark.
