What is Your Interest in AI and Machine Learning?

I am preparing my schedule for topics in 2019 for ESSENTIALS, as well as other programs such as RoadTests and/or Webinars. I have discussed with others about offering a several part series on artificial intelligence or machine learning. I think it's topic that everyone should have knowledge in. My intent was that the first module might be more general knowledge, but the subsequent ones would be much more in depth -- perhaps more like a tutorial.

 

I am not seeing a lot of content on this topic on the community. Never much in the way of discussions. Hence, this poll. If you have the time, please respond. Thanks.

  • I am working on an algorithm which, hopefully - if it turns out as I suspect - will be able to make the implementation possess "common sense". I am no computer expert,  or a brilliant software engineer,  infact,  I am just an undergraduate student studying robotics at the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.  But I have observed human behaviour and deveolpments in AI over the past three years.  Here is my opinion on it:

     

    Machine Learning is not totally bad,  but limits the complexity of tasks the machines can do.  A human can easily recognize a road,  even when he sees a small portion of it.  And with nearly 100 percent confidence claim that what he is seeing is a piece of concrete road,  whereas a machine learning algorithm will be busy chosing whether it is concrete piece or a carbon paper or a grey sheet or a rock.  The difference arises in two areas: The humans do not just depend on the.... I will continue this when someone ask me to.  Peace out.

    Dunno about roads, but machines have surpassed humans in many pattern recognition tasks.
