Mystery Project #3 - clue 4

This is the 3rd mystery project - it might be easier to guess, especially once more clues are revealed, but it may still take a while before the full reveal because there are still a couple of parts apparently coming on a very slow boat. Also I'm not sure it is even going to work in the end. There are 5 more 3D printed parts completed, but not shown. It might be easier to guess what these subsystems are than the full system.

Here is a picture of some of the subsystems to get the comments started....

Another picture - this one shows the custom PCB in the display enclosure.

The system needs a sensor - the one shown was tried, but I am not happy with it and will use a different sensor.

This clue shows the display and encoders working...

It doesn't show the intro splash screen. It is also missing one piece of information and data labels...

The next clue shows how most parts fit in relation to each other...

looks like a greatly miniaturized redesign of WonkaVision

I don't know much about Wonkavision, but it sounds somewhat similar.

Yeah, it's nice to have a little break from the ordinary routine, and embark on a new adventure of sorts.  That company was pretty cool and accomdating as well.  Of course they were in a position to potentially benefit from your ideas without having to pay you a big salary... but yeah cool experience and cool arrangement.

    It is a camera project....

The jury is still out on how many sensors I can get away with.

Looks like a reflective IR distance sensor has joined the party. Looks like one of the longer range Sharp ones so target expected within the 200mm to 1500mm sort of range.

'Shutter' is printed on the PCB silkscreen so I'm guessing this is the camera related project.

The PCB silkscreen shows 'I2C Laser' yet the Sharp device I believe is an analogue output so perhaps there will be two for 'X/Y Sense'

I'm guessing this is some sort of a camera control system to make photographing projects on the workbench easier.
