Thank you for your feedback. We understand the frustration with certain platforms, and we’ll take this into account for future surveys to ensure a smoother experience.

We also appreciate your insights regarding part selection and the impact of availability on your design and prototype work. It’s important for us to understand how different factors like technical performance and stock levels influence your decisions. We'll definitely consider these varying requirements as we continue to refine our offerings to better meet the needs of all our customers.

Thank you for your feedback. We agree that it’s crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of our customers, and input from those who interact directly with them is invaluable.

While surveys like this one are part of our broader strategy, they are certainly not the only way we gather customer insights. We also work closely with regional teams, customer support, and sales to ensure we’re capturing a wide range of perspectives. Your point about ensuring a mix of input from various channels is well taken, and we’ll continue to strengthen those efforts to make sure we’re getting a more complete picture.

Please don't use Microsoft 365 for surveys - it drives me mad with its ceaseless requests for you to sign in to Micro$ stuff.

Your questions largely assume a large company approach - but different customers have very different requirements.

I design things and make prototypes - which means that the choice of parts is very fluid but is usually driven by technical performance but gated by availability. (If I can't get it in time for a tight development cycle then it can't be used). If there will be large scale production later then that brings in other factors like price and availability.

But my actual purchasing is not very price sensitive - because I'll be buying for prototype quantities. If it's a  simple BOM you can lose the whole order if you don't have a key part in stock because once I start doing an order with a supplier I might as well order all the bits from the same place.

I think all data collection methods have their benefits and drawbacks. I only deal with  people like reps and application engineers when exploring new technology and roadmaps. When buying, I mostly examine datasheets and price tables, so efficient access is most important, either through part number lookup or parametric search..
