I have seen a few videos on the Pi and some of the amazing things it can do. I decided to see if it was as easy as the videos made it out to be. Ordered my first board today. Talk to you all later for help, tips, and tricks.
The pi can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be, I guess it depends what you are using it for. The raspberry pi web page has many different linux os to choose from or if your interested in a media player download raspbmc. I run the media player on one tv and really like it. The linux os downloads are from easy to advanced, I started with the easy and moved on up. Since they run off of a SD card it is easy to change them out. If you are familiar with linux you will have no problems or if your not, it is an easier way to start learning. As Nicole mentions, those links are a great place to start!!!

Dear Mr. Winhold,
Thank you for your response. The pi has turned out to be just the adventure I needed. So, far I can power up the Pi sign on start the desktop emulator and run the shutdown command. I have work command line before in MS DOS and DR DOS. I had forgotten how picky syntax can be. I am enjoying the relearning immensely.
I have tried to load other flavours of Linux onto my own SD cards but have not been successful in getting one to load. I did buy a preloaded OS card with my Pi so it's not holding me back but it is a skill I would love to own. Is there a video or printed steps you could suggest where I could see step by step how to do it?
Thank you for your time.
