Why is my name not allowed?

I try and put my first name in the first name field and I get the following error message: Sorry, this name is not allowed. WTF?

I've got to the bottom of it. Someone put something very bad into the username blacklist, the end result of this was that it was blocking any name that began with a k. Kim, Klaus, Kris, all of these were being blocked. I've removed the setting now. botheration - you should be able to change your name to your actual name now (although I suspect some in the community will call you ReallyKim from now on ) You should be able to change your name in your profile - convenient link to the profile edit page here: https://www.element14.com/community/edit-profile!input.jspa If you have any problems, reply here and I'll investigate further.

Okay, that's really odd. We do have a black list of names, to prevent people from putting undesirable words in their usernames, but "kim" is not one of them. However, I reproduced this *really* easily. It only happens on this site, and not on any of our test systems, which is itself really unusual - our test systems are copies of the live system and have (almost) all the settings copied across on a regular basis. I'm continuing to investigate, but I will say that I for one can't see anything wrong with that name, it should be allowed, and I don't know why it isn't letting you.
