    Very interesting, I wonder if the fields could be used for communications as well as power, the same way RFID works.

    I think you're going to have a poor bitrate, or noise to signal ratio, for the amount of power provided.
    I'd suspect you may not have multiple signals at once either, maybe a point to point link if anything.
