Another really cool tool is a telescoping magnetic pickup These can be used as a pointer when making videos as well.

Those work area mats look like a really useful item! I currently end up using blu-tack to prevent screws rolling off the desk but it's not ideal. Here are some more ideas: Keychain element14 branded…

I mostly use micro SD cards because of their storage size, but I have adapters to make them fit full SD, USB A or USB C.

Those adapters would also be useful swag.

Always can use a mat. It marks a part of the workbench as mine.

some advantages of the mat:

does not slip on the table

pcb does not slip on it

you can do hot air reflow on the mat, or above the mat, without burning the table

all solder remnants stay contained: you can pick it up and shake clean above the garbage bin

the separated areas help, either when picking/placing, and when desoldering (although I cut the 3 silly lids on the top from my mat)

areas where you can put an exacto knife without it rolling away, screwdrivers, flux pen, braid..

you can switch solder tips before full cool-down, just drop the hot tip in one of the pockets

you can roll it up and stow it away, perfectly flat the next time

antistatic

as I indicated before: several sections are magnetic

I definitely do, now that I know what they are, I am on the look-out for some. Using my small screwdrivers as crowbars is not an ideal alternative.

IFIXIT do quite a range and I have a few of their sets, but I thought it would make a good, easily branded swag item that most people would find useful.
