What is a Watermelon Ice USB Widget?

While cutting the grass I found this USB-C widget laying out by the curb. The nerve of some people to toss their e-waste on the side of the road!

hmm... I know nothing about these kind of widgets...

Inside there is a 600 mAh li-ion battery

Beyond the battery and maybe the USB-C connector, i'm not sure what else is worth keeping.

I haven't tested the battery yet, but I have just the USB widget for that task!

So what did I end up with, well:

a) An interesting story

b) An interesting sensory experience from the smell

c) A genuine ~600 mAh li-ion cell

Perhaps I'll use the pcb as a usb-c power source board...

When I worked at a Tropicana juice plant, one of the ladies working in the QA department could, by smelling and tasting the finished product blindly:

tell where the oranges came from. Florida, Brasil, elsewhere

how long ago the juice was bottled

stored in a glass or plastic bottle

how much sugar

Maybe you can become the same expert in the vape industry :)

Even though this isn't my thing, if this get someone into electronics I think that is totally awesome! It would seem there is a DIY vape community

I believe it was an intentional design choice. At the time, both regular and mini-sized Altoids tins were very popular enclosures. Adafruit had several products/accessories for them (like a protoboard.)

I have a unpatented blast proof shield storage box dedicated to them. Around 2011 I was eating the mints like candy, so I started saving the boxes to use as projects enclosures. (Which, to date, I have not yet done.)

perhaps needs internet connectivity so that it can automatically restock vape fluid when running low and an OLED display to share usage statistics with your vape buddies. Or at least a wireless tether to a mobile phone.
