The internet says no.

Real brief, cant go into too much detail right now. I started a composite wood project, and asked the internet about some bio chemical processes regarding fibers and solvents, and a process I would use to simplify the process. A quick flurry of no, you cant do that, with some lengthy explanations about why what I'm doing is impossible.
lol, ok. Well today, I spoke with some engineers in a composite wood processing plant, and they were very impressed that my process is a mirror of their exact process for doing basically the same thing. Then i got a job offer. lol suck it internet.

I've screwed up in ways that no one thought was possible... I guess that's not quite the same thing though.

Is this a job offer that interests you?  If so, great.

Sometimes the internet is full of far more negative people (haters) that would rather burn you than encourage or help you.  I have found this to be true so many times.  The times that stick out the most for me or those times that my questions involved ideas I had that in the end turned out to be successful ideas that eventually turned out to be patentable. So, if they are hating you, you might be on the right track.

    Good luck and keep pushing.

Without proper vetting, you can run into a lot of false information.

Getting a job offer indicates that you have demonstrated an ability to solve problems on your own.

That is a good indicator of solid engineering skills.

Indeed, and congratulations! Doing what is commonly believed to be impossible is perhaps the most worthwhile thing in life.

"The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes just a little longer..."

The entry job not so much, I think I can get shifted from operator to controls and processing once I get in.

There does seem to be a plethora of "Can't be done" people on the Internet.  I call it the "'No' mindset".

I like the "'Yes' mindset".  "How about this?" and "It can also be done this way." are part of the "'Yes' mindset".  Solutions, not barriers.
e14 is full of "Yes" thinking people.  That's what makes this community so awesome.

I'd consider myself a bit of a "can't be done" (or "this is impractical" or "way too difficult") person. In particular when a starter wants to make a complex project.

More power to them if they do manage to achieve the goal.
