So....how are things changing since Tariq left?

Are there new personnel in the works?

Are there changes to Project14 coming?

Are there changes to other programs?

Is there a schedule?

The current request from the company is more for the online store than focussing on the Community, though we could have something for the Community.

The likes of Adafruit do a regular Friday video podcast showing off what's new at Adafruit.

However they only have a fraction of the number of product lines of the likes of Farnell / Newark.

Perhaps one show episode could include mastering the store's search engine though. Slight smile

Would this be an audio podcast or a mixture of audio and video ?

    It could be either.

This could be split so the show introduces the next challenge but also has a review of what members had come up with for the previous challenge. Could perhaps have some input from the manufacturer on the kit being offered for the challenge about what features they think could benefit the challenge, similar use cases and further information.

We used to do advertising trailers for design challenges that introduced what it was about and what kit it would be using, telling the story of the design challenge - what you're suggesting sounds like a different kind of introduction to the design challenge, maybe that would be a good idea.

There's been suggestions of starting an hour long, regular podcast actually and we're being asked what topics we should cover on it, and who we should have talking on it.

Would this be an audio podcast or a mixture of audio and video ?

A while back I was thinking that it would be good to tie in some sort of a show with the likes of the Design Challenge series. Have people talking about issues they are facing in their field, what is already being done and what engineering through communities like element14 could perhaps help with. This could be split so the show introduces the next challenge but also has a review of what members had come up with for the previous challenge. Could perhaps have some input from the manufacturer on the kit being offered for the challenge about what features they think could benefit the challenge, similar use cases and further information.

My radio club is using Drupal.  I think it's a nightmare.  Every platform is going to be imperfect.  If we accept that and learn to use what we have... we can move ahead.  But there are limits. LaughingJoy

There didn't appear to be many alternatives suggested at the time though

I kept winding up the community team/dev team by suggesting we use Discourse and Wordpress.

That would have been interesting! I've had to work with such software in the past, i.e. some other firm's source code, which I had to get up-to-speed with and self-support, but admittedly the firm continued to be paid for at least a year (maybe two) for a few hours support each week, plus they were responsible for bug-fixes for at least a few months from memory. We also used third party code that was fully supported, but we still occasionally self-fixed issues in it, until the supplier could supply their fix.
