It doesn't look legit to me, as a newcomer.
I see, so my wife is not going to like it...
;-)
I just googled "is element14.com a scam", having been scammed in the past by registering with other sites.
The search results did not look good to me - but is it a different "element14"?
It's nice to know there has been such a positive response to my question! OK, I'm a fule.
element14 is owned by Avnet which is a giant electronics distributor with many services. They give away a lot of free stuff and sometimes the shipping logistics are slow or problematic, so you may see comments that question what is going on. The comments hang around even after the issues are resolved.
They also have spam filters on posts to this site which may sometimes trigger on legitimate posts. You can usually get them to "un-spam" your posts in such situations.
I have been a member of element14 since early 2011.
I have made friends all over the world and have engaged in my interesting discussions.
So take some time to review the material, there are many projects to learn from and webinars available.
If you have specific questions feel free to ask them.
this is not element14.com, this is community.element14.com. element14.com is/was store with electronics parts and people who write these reviews that you googled just order parts when they were out of stock and need to wait too much. It hapened few years ago due to global chip shortage crisis. But none of element14.com and community.element14.com is scam.
Both sites are now owned by Avnet group. They no longer use element14.com branding directly for they store much. But still, for example, in Austria, it is au.element14.com. Nowadays they mostly use Farnell and Newark brands for stores, and element14 for community.
How did you come by us, to consider it a scam?
