Participation Guidelines and Code of Conduct Revision

Hello everyone!

There has been a minor revision to  Participation Guidelines and Code of Conduct  (and a reminder that we also have Participation Guidelines ).

That's all, but now I've got your attention, what are your weekend plans? I'm fixing a light switch in the bedroom that's decided to start buzzing. Fun fact, the "fuse box" in my house still uses fuse wire. Exciting!

I'll be working on a telemetry via 1Gb Ethernet proposal. Decent sized FPGA, sub microsecond latency so everything in the fabric in HDL, no processors (soft or hard) and quite possibly no MAC - so we…

Electronics-wise, fire back up the Si5351. Try to move it from the Dupont wire connected mess that is is/was to something more finished. Rearranging the workbench. I've moved the soldering station / power…

You mean one of those quick light switch replacement jobs that ends up involving re-wiring half of the house ?
...and calling in pest control as the buzzing wasn't electrical ?  Confounded

Replacing failed Li-Ion batteries in rechargeable electrical appliances and a failed PSU in a desktop.

Trying to get 'Cluck Old Hen' to finally lay an egg on the mandolin.
(I think I've found all the notes now but they are not necessarily being laid in the right order.)

Not exactly planned, but playing 'spot the e14 Presents presenter' at the local supermarket.
(Appears to have been a 'two for one deal' on offer today.)

Replacing the newly planted bee-friendly plants that have also turned out to be leaf-eating-critter-friendly plants.

Refreshing Pixera fundamentals training before hopefully participating in a Pixera control programming on-line workshop early next week.

Is that a junction box without wires in it?

I've seen skinny junction boxes (they use them here for bathroom fixtures) hate them. I've never seen a box installed but the wires running outsie it.d

I've not see the square skinny ones but the round I have.

I would expect to see wires through a strain relief connector in one of the knockouts. The wires look like they go around the box. The green wire is missing insulation. Green and Red AC wires in the wall not typical on this side of the pnd.

Round ones are usually used with 'ceiling rose' fittings for lights.

The knockouts usually have a rubber grommet inserted to protect the cable from the sharp edges of the box knock-outs it passes through.

The earth wire is often bare to start with - the green is a plastic sleeve that is fitted over the bare copper where it has been exposed.

Red and Black for the AC with green/green-yellow for the Earth.
