How cool are these stickers?

battlecoder
battlecoder 3 days ago

So a few days ago I received a couple of parcels from E14 (Infinite thanks to E14Alice as she tirelessly followed the parcels through courier hell, and did not rest until they made it to my hands). One is the prize for the 2025 Holiday event (The handheld oscilloscope at the right side of the pic; which I'm extremely grateful for, and I could write a mini review of if, if there's interest; Spoilers: It works great!), and the other one is the Arduino R4 Minima (which I'm also quite excited about), won as a reward for an Ask14 Question, and it came with *a bunch* of the coolest stickers I've ever seen!

So, first and foremost; I want to thanks to E14 for all of their community initiatives, events, contents, challenges, and all the things they do to connect and empower members to continue doing amazing things in the field of electronics and engineering.

And second, not only I'd like this to be an invitation to other community members to participate in further E14 events (It could be *you* getting cool stickers next!) but as an open question to all of you; Where would you put these stickers? Where do you normally put your tech/engineering/nerdy/cool stickers?

In my case at least one of the "Never enough women in tech" is going straight to my laptop or one of the notebooks I take with me everywhere (together with probably the "make it, break it, talk about it!", or the "Hello..." name tag, and at least one of the "magic smoke" stickers is going to be displayed somewhere on my work bench, but I'd love to hear what other people do with stickers! Do you put them on your fridge? your test equipment? Backpack? Calculator? Phone? Your locker (Are lockers still a thing?), your car, do you just collect them? Do you have a binder with mint unused stickers spanning multiple stages of your life? Do you trade stickers? Is there an underground sticker market for collectible and rare/vintage stickers I'm not aware of ? I'd love to know!

also: how cool is that handheld oscilloscope. . I have one of that family and use it regularly. Particularly handy for quick checks, and when you need isolated probing.

I'm thinking backdrop panels for my videos. That way everyone gets to see them.

If I were in your shoes.

Here is exactly where those specific stickers would end up:

    • "Magic Smoke Installation Team": This is going straight into my microwave. Every time I re heat a food, I want it to feel like a high-stakes engineering project where failure is always an option.

    • "Never Enough Duct Tape": I`d stick this on my wallet. It perfectly explains why my finances are barely held together by sheer willpower and sticky residue.

    • "Make It, Break It, Talk About It": This belongs on the bathroom mirror. A daily reminder that even if I "break" my sleep schedule, I’m still going to "talk about it" to anyone who will listen for the next eight hours.

    • "Never Enough Women in Tech": I’m putting this on my front door. If someone walks in and doesn't immediately want to discuss circuit design or the gender gap in STEM, they can turn right back around.

    • The "e14" Star: This goes on the dishwasher. Maybe if I give it a "tech community" badge, it’ll stop complaining about the "low salt" error and start acting like a professional workstation.

    • "element14 presents": I`d slap this on the TV remote. Every time I switch to a new show, it's not "watching Netflix"-it's a curated tech presentation for an audience of one (me, in my pajamas).

Honestly, if I had that many "Magic Smoke" stickers, I'd probably put one on my car`s exhaust pipe just to see the look on the mechanic's face during the next inspection.

Probably I would stick it on my workbench.

Because if I’m going to release the magic smoke again, it deserves a proper memorial plaque.

I'm still 12 years old at heart and love these stickers. A couple stickers went on my laptop covers. A couple stickers went on my ebike. A couple stickers went on my sticker wall.

I have a wall in my man-cave that is intentionally unfinished. When I get stickers in the mail, or when my kids brought home stickers from school, or stickers are handed out in public for advertising, they have a home on my sticker wall.

Love this reply. All of your ideas are fantastic, and very well justified. I might steal a few of them!

I think it's time for me to have a sticker wall. That sounds like an amazing thing to have, and it's embarrassing to admit not having one already!

I have a small tool box (in tool-box red) on my desk, which holds all the ..... small tools. So far it only has an OSHstencils sticker on it. I have to do more E14 stuff get some some of those awesome stickers, they all would go on there.
