I hadn't thought of this before, but the RPi400 has caused a shift in direction on a field computer - that's been on the back burner for... ever. I stumbled across a monitor that would run on 12VDC and felt inspired. I want it to be a portable Winlink station. Winlink is email over amateur radio. The system is intentionally bulkier than a laptop and will contain the radio, the appropriate power supplies and as large a LiPo battery as the leftover space will allow.
Now I just have to make it a priority.
