It's been on my mind for a while, I am almost certain that the venn diagram of engineers/makers/technical folk and being a cat owner is near a circle.

Same here! I don’t have pets, but I often feed the neighbor’s cat whenever it comes over.

My home cameras are often calling out "pet detected!" I think there's about 3-4 of them in the neighbourhood.
